Community that moves you

A studio born from necessity

After having her son, Sage found herself doing the math that most new parents eventually do: hiring a babysitter multiple times a week wasn’t realistic. Working around a newborn and family’s schedule meant early mornings and late nights were the only options, and neither was sustainable. What she needed wasn’t a workaround—it was a place built for this.

"It felt obvious—a studio with childcare, for mothers who need both. Someone needed to build a place where they belonged together, and I decided that someone would be me."

Founder of Soul Pilates and Care

As a former doula, Sage understood that every parent’s experience is different, and the path back to a consistent practice rarely follows a straight line. So she built Soul Pilates and Care—the first reformer Pilates studio in San Diego with onsite childcare. Not childcare as an afterthought, but as a foundational part of the community.

Soul Pilates and Care exists for all of it—the early weeks postpartum, the years that follow, and every stage in between.

Common questions

Do I need to reserve a childcare spot?

Yes. A reservation is required for every child to ensure capacity for class. You can book a one-time visit or a monthly membership through Soul Kids when you reserve your Pilates class.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancel at least 6 hours before class at no charge. Cancellations within 6 hours or no-shows incur a $20 fee. Pay the fee and your class credit is returned for rebooking—if not, the credit is forfeited. If you need to cancel your class, remember to cancel your childcare reservation separately.

What if my child has never been in group childcare before?

That's okay. Our staff are experienced with first-time drop-offs. You're welcome to stay for a few minutes during the transition if it helps your child feel comfortable. If they continue to struggle, we'll come get you from class.

Can I check on my child during class?

Our staff are with your child for the full class. If they need you, we'll come get you. If you feel you need to check in, you're welcome to step out at any time.

What if I'm running late?

Classes begin promptly. If you arrive more than 5 minutes after start time, we won't be able to admit you, and a $20 late fee applies. Pay the fee and your class credit is returned for rebooking — if not, the credit is forfeited. If you know you'll be late, give us a call and we can help manage the childcare drop-off.
